SAFE


He lay naked in the small clearing. He lay on his side, languishing as if it were a sin. The sun warmed the right hand side of his body, pooling in the hollows of his frame, whilst the effortless early summer moss gently cushioned his left hand side. He had never been more comfortable, never been more free, never been more safe. The planet protected and enveloped him, the sun soothed and comforted him. He was grateful. He would remember this moment in his dreams, through countless lifetimes. He sighed contentedly and accepted the moment, accepted the selfless protection as if it was his due, which of course it always was and always had been.
